Pseudo Life

There is a lot of life beyond these 4 walls. Or rather so-called pseudo jail. From where I come from, or rather where I study, there is a lot of cultural diversity. Students come all over India, be it north or south or east or west, from everywhere. There is a lot of mixing of cultural’s, traditions and rituals.

This diversity helps us to know each other better, to understand each other and other cultures. All here who come, have cracked one of toughest engineering entrance exams, so all have a very good background of studying and all are hardworking and determined to do something in their life. But few of these people end up locked inside the room, studying all day or watching TV series or movies or doing something else, but they don’t come out often their room.

Life is plain simple for them. Especially for Studious students. Wake up early morning, have bath, go to classes, come back, have dinner, study, sleep. No fun, no gain of any other knowledge. But is it the real way how one should live?

There are many clubs and departments in every college where one can join to learn something new, to make new friends, to know each other and to meet your crush (in my case). I am in many clubs and departments, worked in many other places, lead a department and a club, managed many things in many fests. This helped me to meet amazing people out there, make whole bunch of friends, meet many seniors who helped me a lot, get to know juniors, saved their asses few times. But important thing is getting to know each other, learning new things and getting socialized.

I am a graphic designer, a videographer, a video composer. I do freelancing in both of the fields designing and videography. Worked for couple of startups, made a quite handsome amount of money. I also got to know a lot of things doing the same, the corporate structures, about how deadline to a company means lakhs of loss, how to talk to an executive, how to get dressed well ( never really helped me), how to make relations better and worse too and lot of other bitter but important things about corporate life.

Being in so many clubs and departments helped me to socialize a lot. Doing so many things simultaneously improved my management skills, including time management. Getting to know so many people helped me to reduce my stage fear, making me capable of striking conversation with anyone out there. Leading many clubs and departments helped me to gain leaderships skills. And a lot of other things helped me to build a personality I have. Or the person I am. 2 years ago I was still a child trying to solve MCQ’s to get into one of Prestigious Institutions in India. Being those 4 walls, never know it would be so amazing. I was an introvert then. Not any more.

And to people who stay in the 4 walls all the time, there is lot out there where you can do better things, spend your time more efficiently. Remember, studies is important, but there is a lot more than studies which will be required in real world. And being in college is the transition phase from student to an independent adult. Just come out of those 4 walls and see how much you can enjoy, or rather live your life than survive inside.

It’s just a Crush thing

Cutting the crap. Every adolescent once had a crush. Let it be a classmate, a celebrity (Emma Watson <3) a fantasy character or the girl from next door. Especially boys. Me being one myself, used to have all kind of fantasies with my crush. Let it be going on a cruise together or living in a villa near a beach or just being in a Ross-Rachel relationship. Or when terrorist attack your school and you save your crush in a heroic way :3 .

Living lives with these fantasies was very hard. Really hard. For me, every time she goes right past me, my heart used to go 150. Sometimes 200. Face used to go all red. Blushing on it could be seen from a quarter mile. Vin and Paul testified.

Birds used to chirp. Flowers flew around. Life was about to get a new reason, to have a wonderful life. But not always things happen as expected. Half of teens who have crushes, have themselves blocked by their crushes. And the other half have not even told anyone about it except themselves.

But after many years, still I regret of not telling her about how I feel. Regret every second of my life. What bad could have happened. Getting blocked on Social Media? It was eventual event to happen any ways. But not telling her about it? Well regretting about it every second would not be cool. Not at all.

So if you have a crush on someone, just let them know how you feel about them. No need to progress anything about it. If they feel the same way, you are lucky. If they don’t feel the same, still you are lucky that you wouldn’t live whole life with regretting about it. If they don’t know what to tell then still it would go to any of the two above decisions. You would be still lucky. But if you didn’t tell him/her, then it would be a life changer.

From Telephone to Social Media

In current technological world, survival without a computational device is very difficult. These computational devices have helped a lot for human mankind like Education, Research, Faster Computing, More organised data, Better lifestyle etc etc. And then comes portable computational devices which too have affected our lifestyle a lot. Let it be Mobile, Laptops or Tablets. Especially Mobiles. These tiny monstrous things connect us with the rest of the world. Let it be California or Moscow or Sydney, everywhere. Whats more interesting is the ability to exploit it by every possible way.

Telephones were the era when having one was far more luxurious than having a car at that time. Then came the idea of portability. So mobile telephones with a receiver, having huge battery with it was first commercially made available which allowed us to talk for 20 min wireless. Then came idea of putting a display into it. And then touch. Then flip. Then Qwerty keypad etc. etc. Our childhood went really awesome with Nokia, especially 1100.

Latest trend told the manufactures to stop after putting touch screen onto it, so that we have to pay less to innovators in mobile technology and usability. But at the same time social media was at full high. Zuckerberg was going to drop from Harvard and Hashtag was about to get a new usage.

Everyone want a good social life. Wild life. Beers, parties, outing, weed and all those. Life is western was about to take a revolution. Multi-Billion Dollar Ideas were being discussed in pub’s. Victoria Secret Models were emerging as something new. RAM was being increased from KB’s to MB’s and Macintosh was about to make a huge revolution into personal computers.

Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Orkut all were gearing up to change how a person lives, how he stays late, with whom he hang outs, where he goes and what he does. Basically these companies started to get into our lives. Actually we let them do it.

Making these social media accessible into something portable like mobile just revolutionized the way we live. To an extent where Privacy was not Private anymore. Where being Single was raising questions of being straight. Where not posting photo’s was saying that he/she was a jerk.

Currently Social Media has the largest impact on the majority of population. To such an extent that they can start a world war, or they can put a war to rest, just by sitting in their office with a click on computer. These giants control how a person lives, eats, drinks, breathes etc.

Some utilized a variety of ways to do good to society from it. Some succeed. Some didn’t. But many more big companies did turn up. Thanks to social media. This started to expand themselves to other fields too, giving tough competition to many other old tech giants. Ad-Words vs FB Ads. Call over Internet vs video calls on a touch. Posting a video online vs Going live online. Using filters on Instagram vs using #Hashtag on Twitter. A lot has changed. If utilized properly productivity of human mankind can increase to many folds. But thats not a person wants. Jealousy from  a person enjoying, then going themselves to a pub, posting a video with heinekens in a hand, showing all that you too are cool, now that is what is stopping human mankind to not see what all they can do with these things.

But there are few good things too. 500 days ago an Engineer left is work in silicon valley and decided to travel all world and make a 1 min V-Log of it and post daily on Facebook. Today after 500 days, he has more than around 1.5 million friends. Traveled all around the world. Inspired a lot of people. Bought the reality in front of the world. Well that is a person who utilized it in a proper way. Checkout is FB page here (

Social media is a boon or bane no one really knows still. But we do know that it has influenced more people than any other person could do. Good thing about social media is we have information about any person right in our hand at a click of it. Bad thing about social media is we have information about any person right in our hand at a click of it. Mobile computational devices really did bring a revolution to human existence, but it did come at a cost and a lot of people don’t like it.

Internship’s Accuracy

Internships are really kind of a part time job (unless you are not getting paid), with a perk. The perk is if you screw up something, or didn’t do the work in time or properly, then no one will blame you. One can easily get over the mistakes he/she makes during the internship.

Recently I got a chance to be an Intern in one of largest Aluminium producing company. Being a mechanical engineer, it was not the best, but an average place to do an internship. Reason of grabbing this opportunity was my college forced me to, made it an evaluative component, made it mandatory for another big internship which will last for a semester and is too evaluative.

Coming back to the Aluminium Company; Doing Internships in a well established companies (factories) are always waste of time. First of all lack of new things to do, because all they do is maintain the machines, so will the interns do. Secondly lack of areas of research. Unlike someone like me who had dream’t of doing research, designing and building new tools, implementing new mechanisms, all I had to do was pick up a spanner and start tightening the bolts. Something what I didn’t think of.

But few things never really go well. The Industrial process to extrude alumina was all set over here along with machines. But there were many other fields where there was a lot of work to do. Example being like making or bringing computerized components/machines into the factories, maintaining servers, websites of the company, looking after the finances, bills purchase orders and lot more things, which are essential but not directly linked to the factory.

So doing internship over here as a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer over here doesn’t really make sense. But as a student of  degree Computer Science or Finance or Information Technology, this place can be of different level compared to others. They can get a better exposure to corporate world, they can do a really productive work and they can tryout lot of new things doing the same.

So a Factory doesn’t always mean a Mechanical Engineer’s work place. It also means there are lot of other people who are required and do work apart from Mechanical Engineers and have important works without which a company cannot run.

By the way I did my Internship under IT Department over here and working on an amazing project which is interesting and very useful to the company. Learn’t a lot of new thing along the way and saved a lot of bucks to company :/

Home Abroad

In India, more than 80% of youth’s want to become either an engineer or a doctor. The number is around 20% in UK. India being seventh most populated country, that is a very big number. But that doesn’t mean quality don’t meet quantity.

Microsoft, Google and many other companies have showcased that its not from where one comes from or where is from; What matters are the skills, the passion, the urge to make a change in the difference. Get the reference 😛

Jio transformed lives of millions of Indians. Few were amazed, few got spoilt and few others achieved what they dream’t. Bringing Internet, reliable one, to every person in a country is a big thing. Overall I think India’s productivity hit a good high percentage recently. All this after he gave up on Reliance Infotech, right from scratch Jio was built.

None dream’t that a tea seller, by origin,  would be one of top 10 most powerful people in world. Nor did those 40% scientists in NASA. Let it be any field, we Indians have shown up that we too are capable of same, sometimes better. Still we are a developing country. Still garbage is thrown out of the window of a running train. Still people piss beside public toilets. Still our country require a lot to change and a lot will change. Well Taj wasn’t built in a day. It took 22 years to build it. And in 1631, it wasn’t that easy too…

Language Barrier

How annoying it can be when two people talk in their regional language and you don’t understand a shit? This is the typical scene in many Engineering and Medical colleges, where students all over India come.

Most of the time similar region people bond together and make their friend cycle, but few introverts who fail to get out of rooms, tend to become introverts across the span of 4 years. They feel shy to talk people, feel shy to go out and eventually stop coming out to get around.

Sometimes it becomes really awkward situation. Like when you and your friend from different states are hanging around, and someone from his state shows up. And they start talking in their regional language…. Hello..!! I exist.I fucking don’t understand a single word. But you end up nodding or surfing FB on phone or just stalking girls on Instagram. Well that really gets annoying.

Sometimes it is not just college where it happens, even in other places too. Group conversations was never meant to be in a common language when there are 2 or more people who know a different language and start annoying to others. Well even I can cuss you in my regional language, you wont understand a shit 😛

These small little things plays a lot bigger roles in personality development of a person. These minute things have a bigger impact in ones life than many other major things. Its not really about comfort sometimes, it is more about showing off superiority when you meet someone with similarities. A natural human tendency. Wont go pretty soon 😦

If you are reading this, then next time try not to annoy your companion over these small minor things. Small thing, but important one.

Vacation Breakation

Electronics have become very important part of our life over the time. Some people breathe mobile, some drink laptops. They have integrated it to lives to an extent that more than luxury and comfort, they have become essential commodities for day to day living. Some even love them more than anything, even human beings 😦 So even a slight damage can be very heart-breaking.

So recently my old but robust phone screen got cracked, my lovely cute earphones stopped working and my other half, laptop stopped recognizing half of the ram it holds inside it. All of a sudden my life hit a low.

Sometimes it feels how much we have evolved from stoneage; And major part of evolution in terms of knowledge, technology, intelligence etc. are due to these tiny devices. From Benz to Tesla, from Punch Cards to SSD’s, from The Flyer to Airbus A320 all was possible because of these electronic devices.

Imagine a summer without any of these essential things all of a sudden…. Hard to live. But people didn’t know how to light fire once. Hunted using stones and stayed in caves. Hope that doesn’t come any sooner to mankind.

And do people start realizing that electronic devices are the not the only thing which is interesting. Surely they haven’t seen past that virtual window.
